Rietvallei Wine Estate counts among South Africa’s oldest family-owned wine estates and was one of the first wine farms established in the picturesque Robertson Wine Valley. From generation to generation, storytelling has been an art in the Burger family and that art is continued by its 6th generation. The Rietvallei Dark Cin 2019 is a uniquely dark and decadent Cinsaut. Dark plum red in colour, the nose reveals dark, earthy blackberry fruit with touches of spice and smokiness. The palate is intense, with juicy berry fruit and hints of chocolate and spicy freshness. Beautifully rounded with gentle, inviting fruit tannins and a delicious, juicy, all-encompassing finish. This red wine achieved Double Gold at the 2021 National Wine Challenge and is best paired with rare ostrich fillet, venison roast, or duck breast.
